A magnetoelectric sensor directly outputs a velocity signal, so you don't need an integrator. It's self-generating—no external power. Piezoelectric accelerometers require charge amplifiers and power, but offer higher frequency response. For typical machinery monitoring below 1-2 kHz, magnetoelectric sensors are often simpler and more robust.

Can these sensors be used in hazardous areas?
